January: Currently.

finishing The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn. I read thriller after thriller last year. I used to steer clear of these but I can’t seem to get enough (even reading two or three in a row!)

watching The Bachelor. It’s that time again – you can’t be surprised that I’m tuning in… As for my opinion on Arie, well, he’s definitely one of my least favorite Bachelors but I’m entertained by the season. I always spoil the season by reading Reality Steve but I still enjoy watching how it all plays out.

needing to go back to work. I had originally planned to only take two-three months off; however, here we are (almost) seven months later and I have yet to return. A few problems: 1) Martin is quite the mama’s boy and has only preferred nursing to a bottle 2) he will not take a pacifier (making it difficult for anyone to really console him when he gets overly fussy/tired.) That said, I am REALLY hoping to get back in the next six weeks. I’d love to even pick up a shift in the next couple of weeks just to give Marty a ‘test run’ with the two kids.

determined to lose the extra baby weight. I put on slightly more weight carrying Martin (and have also created a bad habit of emotional eating since having him); I’m determined to get my habits together in the coming months and lose the weight by the end of spring.

listening to By-The-Book podcast. These ladies crack me up. The Panoply produced “half reality show, half self-help podcast” is “one wild social experiment.” Podcast hosts Jolenta Greenberg and Kristen Meinzer “live by the rules of a different self-help book each episode to figure out which ones might actually be life changing.”

embracing (at least trying to) the current season. Being a mom of a toddler and a six month old hasn’t been easy. Between discipline issues with Charlotte and my lack of patience (due to lack of sleep), I’m definitely looking forward to a smoother schedule/routine in the future. I have been reading a lot of parenting books and have sought counsel from moms that have ‘been there’ and hope to implement some of their strategies as I move forward in discipline (aka character building) and sleep training Martin.

eating smoothie bowls. I’ve been recreating smoothie bowls at home almost every day. I absolutely love the smoothie bowls at Alchemy (a local juice bar/cafe in Columbus) but 1) I can’t afford to regularly go there and 2)

What’s something that’s currently going on with you this month?
