One Year of Charlotte Rose.

It seems like just yesterday we brought Charlotte home. A November afternoon. Charlotte was this perfect 8 lb bundle. It was a cold and rainy day but the glorious autumn leaves still remained on the trees; Thanksgiving was a mere three weeks away.

Now, I get to relive this upcoming holiday season with a one-year-old!

It is truly miraculous how in just, one short year, you can go from a tiny baby (barely the length of a forearm) to a twenty pound toddler whose legs grow longer each day.

If I could give one piece of advice to future moms it would be to hold your little one for as long as you’d like – of course there will always be a to-do list but you’ll get to it eventually. Take your time and stare at that little face, inhale that newborn smell and just remember that each moment is a sweet, fleeting gift.

Charlotte Rose, you are one today. What a joy it has been getting to know you over the past year. My thoughtful, fearless, goofy girl; I am so proud to be your mom. Happy birthday little one.

  1. so sweet….I hope Charlotte (and mom and dad) had a great 1st birthday!
And thanks for the reminder here to let the to-do list be sometimes – baby cuddles won’t be there forever!
