July: Currently.

celebrating my twenty-seventh birthday at the end of the month!

eating more meat this month than I have in the past three years combined (or at least it feels that way!) The ‘Whole30’ has definitely shifted my opinion on the consumption of meat. I try to buy organic when I can – ESPECIALLY with chicken!

developing relationships with new friends. I’ve made a handful of new friends from around my neighborhood. Definitely a plus side to everyone being outside during the summertime. The neighbor directly next door to me has become one of my favorite people to hang out with (she has a baby who’s one month older than Charlotte!)

reading The Book of Unknown Americans. Great read. Wow. This book really opened my eyes + provided ‘food for thought’ regarding the immigrant/American experience. Would be an excellent choice for book club discussion groups.

feeding Charlotte all kinds of new foods. Food adventures have been bittersweet. As I’ve mentioned before, I miss being the main source of food for Charlotte but we still maintain several nursing sessions a day. I’m hoping she’ll continue to at least a year. Fingers crossed.

downsizing my closet. I have so many clothes that I never wear! I’ve slowly been going through and organizing what can be sold or donated.

  1. I am a huge fan of simplifying the closet. I’ve been doing a modified capsule wardrobe for several months and I am really liking it!

  2. I hope you’ll do a recap of your Whole30 experience. There are things I personally love about it and things I strongly disagree with, too. As it sounds like it already has been, the 30 days will be a learning experience one way or another!

    1. I feel a lot fuller. I also don’t feel as fatigued. I’m still sleepy from time to time but it has been different from the fatigued feeling I’d been experiencing for the past several months. I’m so torn about whether to continue the ‘paleo’ lifestyle after I’m finished with the thirty days… I think there are both positives and negatives to it. Ugh.

  3. Happy (early) Birthday! So fun that you’ve made friends with your neighbors! I’m still in the process of trying to figure out how to make friends where we are, haha 🙂 With time! Hope the Whole30 is still going well!
