A couple of weeks ago, Marty, Charlotte and I ventured to Moyock, North Carolina. Marty was on Spring Break so we figured it’d be the perfect time to visit some of his family that we hadn’t seen in awhile.
It was Charlotte’s second road trip and, I have to admit, I was nervous about traveling with a five month old; however, she did great! We left Friday night at 5PM so she talked + cooed for a couple of hours until bedtime (around 730PM.) The worst part was driving through the night. I may have eaten an entire package of Graham Crackers to keep myself awake during the journey. Coffee + Graham Crackers = late night fuel…right?
We arrived around 5:00AM and slept until…7:15AM! Hooray for my five month old alarm clock!
We spent the majority of the long weekend just relaxing and catching up with our family. The weather wasn’t great while we were there (sunny but only in the 30s) so we weren’t able to do much outside. I tried to get out each day for a jog but the wind from the ocean was intense (even an hour from ocean shore!)
We were able to get to the beach for a little bit on Monday evening (after it had stopped raining!) Charlotte’s first time seeing the Atlantic Ocean. I think she’s still a little too young to appreciate the enormity of what she was seeing but hoping she’ll be able to enjoy it more next time.
The weekend flew by but it was nice to get away for a couple of days. I love traveling with my little family!
Did you do anything for Spring Break this year?
Oh my goodness sooo cute!! Baby pictures in water are my favorite, I need to get more of the boys in the bath tub 🙂
We didn’t do anything on Spring Break but that’s AOK 🙂 we will some day, just not right now!
It’s so cute watching them play in the water! I look forward to Charlotte learning how to swim + actually going into the ocean for the first time! It’s going to be so sweet to watch!
I can’t believe I haven’t ever visited your blog! Anyway – your little Charlotte is absolutely precious. 🙂
What a lovely family vacation. Just seeing Charlotte in the tub without a baby tub shows how quickly she’s growing. She is such a doll. I hope your husband is ready for some guys hearts to be broken 🙂
What a wonderful weekend getaway! So many lovely pictures and I’m sure you guys made great memories! 🙂 🙂
What a lovely place! Charlotte looks like she’s enjoying the beach 🙂
Sounds super relaxing! Even though the weather was BLAH – spending all that time with family made it warmer! 😉 Cheesy but TRUE! ha ha!
ohmygoodness, your daughter is getting cuter & cuter. no sleep? i wouldn’t mind if i was staying up with a love like that ❤
Gorgeous photos aaassss always!! What a great family trip. I don’t have a baby, but I have an internal “coffee clock” that wakes me up at 4 or 5 am even on my days off. HA.
That’s so great that you got to take that little trip! And yay for how smoothly it went with Charlotte!
Such beautiful pictures! Sorry that the weather wasn’t nicer for you, but I’m glad you were able to relax and spend time with family!
Love the photos. I feel like I always say that but I do. I never do anything for spring break, even when I was in high school or college lol. I remember the family vacations to the beach. Not at 5 months old of course but I do have some spotty memories at the ages of three and four.
She is such a cutie! I was at home in Columbus last weekend for a little mini-trip (and then I flew to Nashville for work!) And it was SO fun being home to see my parents!
I’m glad that you’re blogging again :).
I know you said it was cold, but I didn’t realize that it was in the 30s!! At least you were able to get some cute family pictures — and I’m glad that Charlotte traveled well! We’re going to Disney World for our “babymoon” this month, and I’m so excited!
I love these family photos! Charlotte is so cute! I know I say it every time but it’s true!
Thanks Kelli! 🙂 Her swimming had to be done in the bathtub this trip! Haha. I love the way the photos turned out though.
