Baby Boden: The Third Trimester.

PicMonkey Collage

The usual third trimester symptoms: lack of sleep, belly pain, exhaustion. It is so difficult trying to sleep on my side. At this point, she has dropped quite a bit so it’s becoming a bit easier to breathe. The lack of sleep towards the end of pregnancy is no joke. By the end of the day (really around 5PM) I’m tired but have terrible insomnia. I’m only getting about 3-4 hours of sleep each night (with an hour-hour and a half nap in the early morning.) I realize that I won’t be sleeping once she makes her arrival BUT at least I’ll be sleepy when my head hits the pillow.

Continuing to walk several miles each day. I’ve definitely cut way back though. I’m just barely getting 10,000 steps/day but it’s what I shoot for. I tried lifting weights a couple of times around 30 weeks but decided to just hold off until she arrives. I’ve read too many horror stories about lifting while pregnant. Side-note: If you’re into lifting while pregnant – that’s great! It’s just not for me this time around.

I can’t stop eating Panera Whole Grain Bagels + Hazelnut cream cheese! Why didn’t I know about this combination prior to pregnancy?! I’ve also been making a huge pot of chili each week for the past month (side note: check out this, this and this recipe!)

Anxious about the upcoming labor and delivery but SO excited to meet our little girl. Her nursery is coming together and we have everything we need (or think we need) for the first couple of months. I have all of the ‘essential’ items put together for her (crib, bassinet, swing, changing table); however, I still need to decorate. I’m just not feeling very creative. I have a ton of stuff to use – it’s just a bit daunting! I’ll share photos of her nursery when it is finished.

Meeting Baby Boden!! (Any day now!)

For those of you with kiddos – any advice for labor/delivery/aftercare??

    1. Thanks Corrie!! The dress is actually from Anthropologie from a few years ago (not maternity but I tried to make it work.) Buying maternity clothes was something I was just not into throughout my pregnancy.

      1. That’s awesome. Definitely trying to do the most I can with that too — with only a few months left it seems crazy to spend tons on maternity specific things. But I keep getting bigger!! Haha.

  1. I feel for you on the lack of sleep front. I have bad insommnia sometimes and it can be the worst trying to get through the day, so I can only imagine how much harder it would be whilst pregnant.

Not long to go now, excited for when the baby arrives 🙂

Hope you have been having a lovely weekend.

  2. Your BUMP IS ADORABLE!!!!!!! You rock that thing so well, I think you should get a fake bump after you give birth, because it’s just so cute! One day you can be “pregnant” and the next, NOT! HA HA! You could really mess with people’s minds LOL!

    1. I want to get a fake bump just so people are nicer to me! Haha. It’s crazy how much more polite people are to a pregnant lady! I’ve only been out a couple of times and Charlotte was born but I’ve already noticed the difference. Boo.

  3. You look wonderful and so healthy! I can’t wait to see pictures of Baby Boden! I’m sure she’ll be just as lovely as her mama.

PS – wholegrain bagels with hazlenut cream cheese?! Please come to the UK Panera!

    1. Thanks lady! 🙂 I will miss the bump but it’ll also be nice to 1) sleep on my belly 2) bend over 3) shave my legs in a more graceful way and 4) start running again 5) fit into more than two pairs of pants. Oh pregnancy – definitely bittersweet!

  4. You are such a stunning mama! I can only imagine how excited you are…here’s hoping your little one arrives soon (and that you’re able to get a little more sleep in the meantime!). 🙂

    1. Thanks Domi 🙂 I’m definitely excited (and just ready to be done with pregnancy!) I’m crossing my fingers for more sleep between now and her arrival too (though it’s 5AM and I’m already on social media – that doesn’t bode well. Eek!)

  5. oh gosh, you might just have the *cutest* bump of all time, ever ever. i mean, it’s absolutely precious. despite the pain, maybe you miss it? hehe, i just started popping out, and i can only *hope* i end up looking as cute as you 🙂

  6. You are so incredibly cute!! Seriously!! You just have the cutest baby bump ever!! Lovely photography as well!! 🙂 Congrats!!!

  7. Hey cute mama! So I just have advice that everyone has given to me (you have probably heard it all too)….So I’ll spare you!! Maybe the best thing I’ve heard and have heard so many times is to nap when the baby naps (don’t do dishes or laundry, just let it go!). Xoxo

  8. You are the cutest pregnant woman…I’m so excited that you’re getting so close to meeting her!! I’ll be praying for patience and peace while you wait ❤

  9. Ahh…I’m so excited for you! I’m praying that you have an easy birth and that in the end, everyone is healthy and happy (I know you and the baby will be)! I love all of your outfits — are they all maternity, or were you able to wear your normal clothes too? I will probably be coming to you for advice and insight as Jordan and I seriously consider expanding our family soon :).

  10. SO excited for you, Di! I’ll be sending lovey thoughts your way this week as you prepare for the big arrival. You’re going to be the best mom! Can’t wait to meet Baby Boden this December 🙂

  11. Love the pictures, as always.I don’t have any children, so I have little experience to what you are going through. However, I do have several friends with young children and one who recently had a baby told me that it’s shocking how naturally you adapt to the baby’s schedule. And kudos to you for still working out through your pregnancy!
