Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale. – Lauren DeStefano

Fall has officially arrived in Columbus. Whoo-hoo! I’m so happy that long, hot days are behind us for awhile and that cool, cozy days lie ahead.

There are several fall activities on my to-do list this fall – one of which I was able to do this past weekend: apple picking!

On Saturday morning, Marty and I ventured out to Lynd’s Fruit Farm to pick Honeycrisp apples! The weather wasn’t as nice as I would’ve preferred (it was extremely windy and overcast); nonetheless we had a nice time together! We picked thirty pounds of Honeycrisp apples for thirty dollars – not a bad deal considering how pricy they tend to be at the market.

Do you plan on going apple picking this fall? What is your favorite type of apple? Honeycrisp are delicious but I actually prefer a more tart apple like Jonagold or McIntosh!

  1. FALL!!! I love it! Love love LOVE fall!! 🙂 …and you went apple picking?!! For the win!! What a great time! Growing up in New England, we always went apple picking! Gotta love those fresh apples! So simple, nature and sweet! #naturescandy ?!!

  2. I would love to go apple picking, but I don’t think we have much of that here. Sebastopol which is a town over towards the bay is known for their Gravenstein apple’s but I’ve never picked them or heard of people doing that. I love honeycrisp apples. What did you do with 30 pounds?

What do you have to say about this post? Any thoughts? Comments?
