Our Merry Little Christmas.

We had a very merry Christmas this year!

On Christmas Eve we headed over to Marty’s dads house for the traditional Boden Christmas Eve celebration. We arrived a couple of hours early so I wrapped some last minute presents while watching The Santa Clause (one of my favorites!) Everyone else arrived around 7:30 and (for the remainder of the evening) we played guitar, sang, opened gifts and just enjoyed Β each others company until eleven or so.

After the party we headed to my parents house to spend the night so we could wake up and enjoy Christmas morning with my side of the family. Oh the joys of being married and splitting time between families (I’m only partially sarcastic – sometimes it can be really fun!)

After (what felt like) a few hours of sleep, I was waking back up to enjoy Christmas morning with my parents, sister, brother-in-law and baby Landon!

I just love these few hours on Christmas morning. I truthfully look forward to this time all year long.

The rest of the afternoon was spent with my family until we headed to Marty’s grandmothers house for dinner.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I consumed far too many Christmas cookies – but – tis the season!Β

What was the best gift you received? I’d have to say my new Tiffany lamp! I wasn’t expecting it and it wasn’t something I’d ever buy for myself but I absolutely ADORE it and think it’ll look just perfect in our eclectic little house.Β

  1. Aww. Too much wonderfulness going on in this post. First- the fact that you all play the guitar and sing songs together? That about melted my heart. If end up marrying someone with musical talent we will totally be doing that. I love that you still get gifts from Santa too πŸ™‚

That Tiffany’s lamp sounds gorgeous. Don’t forget to take a picture when it’s all set up in your house!

My favorite gift this year was a camera. A pretty simple one, but I love it

  2. I love these pictures!! You had a wonderful Christmas!! πŸ™‚ I’m right there with ya on the cookie thing. I love love love baking cookies, but oh my goodness I can’t have them in the house right now! It’s just something about eating junk…..your body just starts to crave more of it and then you start to feel like this huge slug and like you’re walking in slow motion..lol! I don’t regret a single cookie though! πŸ™‚

  4. Happy holidays to you and your husband!~ I love the cards (I must have collected 20 of them by now!)

My best gift might of been a Kitchenaid or my Thomas Keller cookbooks! I still have not taken them out the wrapping, they are both too beautiful. πŸ™‚

  5. What a beauiful celebration. I’m so happy you & your husband had such a wonderful Holiday – even if you were running from place to place. I have to point out that you look stunning, Diane! I love the simplicity of your black dress.
