1.) My mom and dad threw me a birthday party on Sunday afternoon. We usually do it the weekend before or after my birthday; however, next weekend is out since Michelle is getting married on Friday night!! WHOO-HOO.

2.) Speaking of Michelle’s wedding; can you believe that my sister’s wedding is already coming up on Friday?? That time just flew by! Some quick thoughts regarding her wedding:

  • I hope I’m not a blubbering mess while she walks down the aisle and the ceremony is taking place. I can just see it now…AH! Gotta make sure to pack some tissues.
  • I’m really nervous about my maid of honor speech…especially because I have yet to write it! Procrastination!
  • I’m so excited to see how everything comes together!! I swear, my mom really should go into business for creating beautiful, quick weddings!
  • I am looking forward to slow dancing with Marty. We have done it a few times around our house for fun but we haven’t slow danced in public since our wedding ❤

3.) Another sister update…her bachelorette party on Friday night was a success. We began the night at the Wine Bistro in Columbus. I thought it’d be fun to play ‘Bachelorette Scattergories’** (and I think it was one of the highlights of the night.)

**For a quick explanation of Bachelorette Scattergories = Write the brides soon-to-be last name across the top row, on the left column come up with five creative catergories such as ‘Honeymoon Destinations’ or ‘Places to Have Sex’ 😉 , give everyone 5-7 minutes to complete their card and when the time runs out, the bride begins to reveal her answer for the first row and you move around the table to see if people have duplicate answers (meaning both people don’t receive a point) or what original answers that others come up with 🙂 The one with the most points at the end of the board win!

4.) TODAY is my BIRTHDAY 🙂 It has been a great day so far…..

  • I woke up around 830.
  • Enjoyed a bowl of morning oats, Marty made me some coffee while I blogged a bit (and saw that Google knew it was my birthday!) Ha-ha.
  • I went and got my eyebrows waxed.
  • Afterwards, I went to the gym and worked out for awhile (finished The Fault in Our Stars by John Green.)
  • On my way home, I stopped at Starbucks and enjoyed a ‘birthday’ coffee 🙂
  • When I got home, Marty had chocolate brownie cupcakes on the table waiting for me! I was so surprised!
  • I opened the gifts and discovered that he is taking me back to New York City in December! YAY!
  • Now I’m cleaning our house up a bit.
  • Tonight we are going to bike downtown, enjoy drinks on the river at Milestone 229 and then go to Rigsby’s Kitchen 🙂

Twenty-five is off to a great start!

5.) Check out our vacation to Destin, Florida if you haven’t yet!

  1. Happy belated birthday!!!! It sounds like it was truly marvelous and pretty relaxing which is the way to go!
I’m so excited to hear about your sister’s wedding. I bet she’s going to be a beautiful bride! 🙂

    1. Thank you!! I will probably write a recap in the next couple of days. My sister really enjoyed the day and looked stunning! It was a great wedding 🙂 Looking forward to share the details!

  2. Happy Birthday!! (a few days late 😉 I definitely procrastinated writing my speech for Emily’s wedding, but it turned out being a lot easier to write than I thought and it wasn’t so bad. Sounds like the perfect way to spend a birthday if you ask me 🙂

    1. Thank you 🙂 The speech went well (I wonder if someone took a video of it?) I actually wrote it the morning of the wedding but it just kind of flowed out me! I was still really nervous to speak in front of everyone though 🙂

  3. Happy belated birthday!!! You and your sister are seriously so gorgeous and I am so excited for her!! WHOOO!!! You most definitely will blubber like a baby at the ceremony!

  4. Seriously, I’d love to know how your mom plans weddings so quickly! Venues here fill up soo quickly, my options were limited (actually, we could only find one place with availability!) with an 8 month engagement!

Sounds like a wonderful birthday! Happy birthday, again! I’m jealous that you get to go back to NYC!

I’m just being nosy now, but did you decide what you’re doing with your job this year? Are you nannying, or looking for a teaching position? I’m just curious, because I’m in the same boat (figuring out what to do with my career :)).

  5. First and foremost, Happy Birthday!!!!

Everything about this post made me smile. You seriously have so much love, happiness & fun going happening in your life right now. You are going to do an amazing job on your speech, so don’t ever sweat it hunnie.

p.s. I saw your comment on my guest post about weight gain & pregnancy the other day.. if you need anything, or have any questions feel free to shoot me an email “jessiejoshua21@yahoo.com”

    1. Here is your message 🙂 I’m going through my comments that I hadn’t written responses to yet! Thank you for all of your kind words. I really appreciate it Jessie! It’s nice to know you have people with similar experiences and circumstances to walk along side of you 🙂

  6. Aw Happy Birthday!! 🙂 Looks like you had a great birthday celebration with your family with some tasty treats! Also, the bachelorette party looked like a blast! Glad you all had a great time. So glad you had a great birthday!!

  7. Oh my gosh! That sounds like such a perfect birthday. Seriously, your entire day is just about exactly as I would like to spend my 25th birthday (which will be in January…only about 6 months away haha). I love oatmeal and coffee for breakfast and I love getting my Starbucks birthday coupon! Greg and I just got back from a bike ride too. The sunset was gorgeous! Hope you have a great night and enjoy the rest of the week with your sister’s wedding preparations!
