Tuesday Thoughts (A Day Late).

1.) I never recapped my cousin Grant’s graduation party! I know that a lot of you had been going to graduation parties (or have recently graduated -congrats); however, this was the first year that I only had one to go to. Scratch that – I had three to go to but two of them were out of town! Congrats again to my awesome cousin πŸ™‚

Note: I have been forgetting to take my Canon with me whenever there is an event! 😦 Surprisingly (and thankfully) cell phone pictures have turned out pretty well. I had been using Marty’s iPhone5 (instead of my Android which didn’t seem to be taking the best pictures); however, Β I just switched over to the Samsung Galaxy S4 this past week and think I’m really going to like it. The photo quality is really great!Β

2.) Summer is here for the Boden’s so that means: much much more biking (including rides to date nights), wine and cheese nights, late night outings, and reading for hours upon hours at coffee houses. I can’t get enough!

3.) Tomorrow morning I am headed to West Middlesex, Pennsylvania to celebrate my best friend’s wedding! The wedding will take place on Friday night then I’ll head back to Columbus as I’m singing in a wedding on Saturday night. It’ll be a busy next few days – but the good kind of busy πŸ™‚

4.) As I mentioned, summer is here (and I’m done with my teaching license) which means: BRING ON THE READING LIST! I’m definitely on a nonfiction kick right now. I can’t seem to get enough! I have also been reading A TON about raising children (disciplining, varying philosophies, techniques) since I’m kind of struggling with the 3.5 year old that I nanny. Check out a few of my reviews…

I HIGHLY recommend Mirror Mirror Off the Wall and Bringing Up Bebe! Seriously – check them out!

5) I went to see Wicked with my mom and sister a couple of weeks ago! I’m a fan of Broadway musicals but I didn’t know much about Wicked before that night. I can definitely understand what all of the hype was about. The show was fantastic and I was in awe of the stage production and all of the vocal ability. Definitely a wonderful night all around.

Have you seen Wicked?
I always ask…but what have you been reading?
Are you enjoying your summer so far?Β

  1. I still can’t get over how great you look with bangs! I remember when you asked all of us our thoughts, and if you should do it. Ha Ha!

Hope you had a great time @ your friends wedding in PA πŸ™‚

  2. I’m sorry you didn’t like Jenna’s book! I actually read it in one-sitting which says a lot for me since I’m not a huge fan of reading, but I agree with some of the things you mentioned about it. I wish my town was more biker friendly. I love to ride around my neighborhood but that’s about as far as I can go without worrying about getting hit by traffic πŸ˜‰

  3. Biking to dates are the best!! SO fun!! What a great summer you are having so far! I’ve never seen Wicked, but if it came to my area I just might have to see it! Summer just showed up in my state with the heat, and so far it’s been HOT, but good!

  4. What a great graduation party! And I recently just upgraded to a new cell phone and now all that I want to do is use the camera on my phone! lol!
Thanks for sharing these books….I am going to definitely check out the Mirror Mirror off the Wall. It really does sound like a great book!
Hope you have a great weekend!

  5. I love your well thought-out critiques on Goodreads, Di! They are honestly really helpful. I’m glad we’re friends on there πŸ™‚ Sounds like your summer is going swimmingly. I love grad parties and am bummed I had none to attend this summer! I saw “Wicked” a few years ago and wish I could see it again…a really great show. Enjoy your holiday weekend!

  6. I’ve actually never seen Wicked, but during my senior year of high school, my choir performed “Popular” during the Spring Finale show, and I got to play the nerdy girl who transformed into the popular girl. It was fun :). I also own the soundtrack, even though I’ve never seen the whole thing!

I really liked Jenna’s book, but a lot of what she had written I’d already read on her blog. I’m going to have to check some of those books out — I need something new to read!
