Tuesday Thoughts.

1) Marty and I are headed to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this weekend for a short getaway. My dad is originally from Pittsburgh and he still has family that lives there so I’m somewhat familiar with the area but, really, we’re just going to explore the city. A few things on our itinerary:

2) Some of the books I’ve recently read: Attachments by Rainbow Rowell, The Middlesteins by Jami Attenberg, Real Marriage by Mark & Grace Driscoll, Happier at Home by Gretchen Rubin and The Impostor’s Daughter by Laurie Sandell.

Any recommendations for you? Check out Attachments if you enjoy romantic comedies, The Impostor’s Daughter is you love to read graphic novels, Happier at Home if you’re looking for a quick read (though I didn’t love it, it was just okay!), and Real Marriage if you want to read some blunt truths about Godly marriage. I wouldn’t recommend The Middlesteins for the mere fact that it was kind of depressing.

3) In a reading mood? I want to share some great articles/posts I’ve stumbled upon:

4) What are you doing for Valentine’s Day? Do you have any plans? Like I said, Marty and I are headed to Pittsburgh this weekend so that is probably going to be our celebration but for the actual day – no ideas!

5) I bought these prints off of Etsy but I’m not sure where to display them in our house. I’m thinking the bedroom since our bedroom is mostly black and white. Also, special shout-out to Laura Amiss for her awesome designs 🙂

Do you ever buy anything off of Etsy? I just can’t get enough of that website!

  1. Thank you for linking to those awesome articles. I thoroughly enjoyed each and every one 🙂 Grandparents- I drink broth, and I have been looking into making my own soap and household cleaning products. Plus, we are having a garden this summer! Lies of Women- All True. Habits- I think I may have to try this out on a few things soon. Binge-Viewer—Heck yes.

  2. Di, I love love LOVE those prints! I actually have them favorited in my Etsy account (great minds, eh?) Thanks for the links to those articles, I will be checking them out and might include them in my Friday Round-Up (with a shout-out to you, of course) 🙂

  3. Have a fabulous time in the Burgh girl!! Can’t wait to hear about your trip, and of course see all the beautiful photos I know you’ll be taking 🙂

  4. I love Etsy!! I’ve gotten a lot of stuff off there — the only thing I don’t like is being patient for shipping. Haha. So spoiled by Amazon Prime over here! Have a great trip!

  5. I love those prints, and Etsy — I bought some of my bridesmaids gifts from there. Have fun this weekend — I still want to know your secret for staying at places inexpensively :)! Jordan is supposed to be planning a fun date for Saturday — it’s been a while since he’s done the planning, so we shall see :)!

    1. There’s nothing wrong with that! 🙂 I never celebrated a Valentine’s Day with a man until I met my husband. This will be the third one I ‘participate’ in in my life. It’ll happen when you least expect it 😉
