The End of an Era.

I can’t tell you how excited I am to finally be graduating from the Ohio State University. It has been a long time coming. 🙂

June 10th, 2012 is the day I’ve been looking forward to for the last several years but, ironically, now that it’s here, I’m kind of sad.

Don’t get me wrong; I am SO glad  that I won’t have the stress of assignments and exams lingering over my every day, but at the same time, I usually get so bored during my breaks. I’m so used to the constant choas that comes with a heavy courseload (especially a courseload of three english classes and a spanish – yikes!) I think that despite all the stress, it’s also something that makes you feel accomplished. Kind of like  a puzzle that your slowly putting together.

Some of the things I’ll miss: taking in scenes of the Oval (especially in the Spring = goregous); grabbing coffee from one of many on campus coffee shops (it wasn’t great coffee but it did its job); studying off campus at a local Starbucks, Cup O’ Joe or Caribou; meeting new people of all different backgrounds.

Some of the things I won’t miss: Writing papers every week…sometimes more than one; professors trying to push their agenda as opposed to teaching the actual material; final exam week; the constant loom of assignments to be done; the constant worry that you aren’t studying enough (and that when  you aren’t studying, you know you should be); campus in the dead of winter = freeeeeezing (especially the Oval); parking on campus; buying textbooks quarter after quarter.

Okay so I guess we see which list trumps which. 😉 Regardless of the highs and lows, it is definitely a bittersweet feeling to finally have my English degree come to a close.
