2011 reflections.

As I was drinking my morning coffee, I began reflecting on the past year. Wow, it has been one crazy year! I never would’ve guessed that by the end of it, I’d be a married woman. Never. I truly believe that God placed Marty in my life at the perfect time. I feel unbelievably blessed to have found a man to share the rest of my life with and (although it may appear to have been a whirlwind of romance) I have never been more certain and at peace.

2011 was a year for new relationships. I have a wonderful new family: the Boden’s. The Boden’s have been unbelievable and have gone above and beyond in welcoming me into their family.

Also, my home church family at Xenos. This group of individuals has really made the last half of my year. I’m excited to see how our relationships will continue to grow.

Though I am thankful for and cherish my new relationships, most importantly, I cherish the Sirkoski’s. I feel that I’ve grown so much closer with my family this year. My sister. My mom. My dad. It has been bittersweet moving out of my parents house but (in a way) I feel that it has ultimately strengthened our relationship.

2011 was also a year of loss. On April 25th my grandma Kitty passed away. While she passed peacefully in her home of 50+ years, our family still dearly misses her.

Looking to 2012…

Resolutions? I always say that I’m going to start eating better and work out more regularly. Don’t we all? While I agree that I should probably do both of these things, I also want to focus on some ‘not so standard’ resolutions. I want to spend more time with God. I want to read His word on a daily basis. I want to really plug in to a community of believers with my husband. I want to spend less time on social networking sites. I want to start running. I want to spend more time with family. I want to completely organize my house. I want to get rid of things I don’t need.

I recognize this is a long list but I believe it is possible. I think all it is going to take is a shift of focus, prayer, and support from those closest to me.

There are several things I’m looking forward to in 2012: finally getting my bachelor’s degree, getting my teaching license, taking a honeymoon, growing in my friendships, my best friends wedding, getting a new puppy, camping. I can’t wait to see how 2012 plays out 🙂
