Tuesday Thoughts.

Another Tuesday, another Tuesday Thoughts post! :)

1.) Today is election day. I’m so glad that all of the political advertisements are going to be done and over with. I’m not sure about the state you live in but Ohio is BOMBARDED with ad after ad. Despite my candidate preference, I can’t stand to hear either side trash one another. Talk about misinforming the public. It’s not to say there isn’t a bit of truth in the ads but I really think people need to look into the issues themselves; they need to make an informed decision as opposed to going by the propaganda from the ‘other guy’.

That said (if you are of legal age): get out and vote! Research the candidates, form your own opinion and vote! What a privilege we have in this country to voice our opinions.

2.) Over the weekend I tried a delicious pumpkin steamer recipe I found here. The thing I love the most is how simple it is to put together. Let me know if you try it out :)

3.) Not too much longer until Thanksgiving! I can’t wait – it’s my favorite holiday :) The Columbus Turkey Trot also happens to occur on Thanksgiving. I can’t wait to start my morning with a nice 5K.

4.) Halloween recap: It wasn’t the best Halloween I’ve ever had, but it’s always fun to pass out candy! The weather was around 40 degrees and there was a slight drizzle that never seemed to go away. We had maybe 50 children stop by at the one hour mark so we decided to head inside and watch a scary movie on Netflix instead!

I don’t have much else going on this week. Hopefully I’ll get some recipes on here soon! :)

I so agree, Diane, about the trash-talking ads that are so misleading, from BOTH sides. I just read that each campaign spent a combined total of $6 billion and it’s just sickening. Think of how else that money could’ve been spent: cancer research, reducing the deficit, etc! Instead, it was spent on attack ads and campaign pins :/

Oh my gosh – I know! $6 billion dollars?! I couldn’t believe it when I heard that. You’re right that they could’ve put it to better use. Makes me really sad. Glad it’s all over.

  4. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday too. I can’t believe that it’s coming up so soon!

Of The Moment.

Trick-or-Treat 2014: Handed out candy to the neighborhood kiddos, enjoyed homemade black bean chili + cornbread for dinner and watched 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' to end our evening. 🎃👻 #happyhalloween #trickortreat2014 "To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us." -Timothy Keller
Happy three year anniversary to my darling husband. I am beyond excited to begin our new chapter in life together. I can't imagine anyone else by my side.
