house ideas.

Marty moved into his new house at the begining of July. He bought a duplex in the Clintonville area (one side is rented out and he is living in the other). The house really seems to be coming together with only a few more details needed for it to finally feel like home.

I won’t move in until we’re married in October; however, I’ve been trying to help as much as possible. Curtains are one huge thing that we need and bookshelves are another. I love this idea for bookshelves:

A wall full of books is ideal – I’m just not sure if it would be something for the dining room or office. Hopefully we’ll take a trip to Ikea soon…

Thai Asian Salad.

As a ‘soon-to-be wife’ I decided it was time to start experimenting with cooking. I’d say I have decent ability; however, I certainly need to develop my skills.

Tonight, I decided to make my version of the Columbus Brewing Company’s Asian Cashew Chicken Salad (minus the cashews). Prior to working at CBC it was always my dish of choice. Unfortunately, I’m not a chef and therefore can’t make an exact replica of the salad – but, I’d say mine does justice.

It’s a bit different (as I’ve added some different ingredients and taken away others); but I like it. I’ve attached a picture of the outcome and I’m hoping that Marty enjoys it just as much as I did.
